The Derringer bespoke collection
Before the guides, there were the bikes. Derringer built hand-made, board-track-inspired motorbikes — the originals that earned the marque its write-ups in Wired, Vogue and Robb Report.

Each Derringer was a modern interpretation of the 1920s board-track racer: a stripped-back, single-cylinder machine with a hand-shaped tank, spoked wheels, and a sprung leather saddle. Sleek, low, and unmistakably its own thing — designed to be looked at as much as ridden.
The bikes were built bespoke. Buyers chose the finish, the leather, the details — so no two were quite alike. That obsession with craft and restraint is what the design press responded to, and it's the sensibility we carry into everything we publish now.
Why it still matters
These days our focus is more useful than beautiful: helping new riders onto their first real motorcycle without the intimidation. But the standard is the same — honest, considered, and made with care. If you're here for the heritage, welcome. If you're here because you're about to start riding, start with our best beginner bikes guide.

New to riding? That's who we're really here for.
The same care that went into these bikes now goes into helping you choose your first one.
